What Is a Vampire Breast Lift®?

The Vampire Breast Lift® is a non-surgical aesthetic treatment that uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to rejuvenate the skin of the breasts and décolletage.

PRP is prepared from a small sample of your own blood. The sample is processed to concentrate platelets and other components of plasma before the PRP is injected into targeted areas of the breasts or décolletage. PRP is used in a wide range of medical and aesthetic applications, and Health Canada explains that autologous PRP prepared and administered by qualified practitioners falls within the practice of medicine or dentistry and is regulated provincially and territorially.

How Does a Vampire Breast Lift® Work?

The treatment generally involves three steps:

• Blood collection: A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm.
• PRP preparation: The blood is processed in a clinical centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma.
• PRP injections: The PRP is injected into selected areas of the breasts or décolletage based on your anatomy and treatment goals.

Topical numbing may be used to improve comfort during treatment. Your provider will determine the appropriate injection sites and treatment approach during your consultation.

Because PRP uses material obtained from your own blood, there is no breast implant or synthetic filler involved.

What Can a Vampire Breast Lift® Improve?

A Vampire Breast Lift® is primarily focused on skin quality and subtle aesthetic changes, rather than significant breast enlargement.

No. A Vampire Breast Lift® is not a breast augmentation procedure.

If your primary goal is a significant increase in breast size, breast augmentation may be more appropriate. If you are concerned about sagging or drooping, a surgical breast lift may be considered instead.

Vampire Breast Lift® vs. a Surgical Breast Lift

Despite its name, a Vampire Breast Lift® does not physically lift the breasts in the same way as surgery.

A surgical breast lift, also called mastopexy, removes excess skin and tightens or reshapes the remaining tissue to raise sagging breasts.

A Vampire Breast Lift®, by comparison, is non-surgical and focuses on the appearance and quality of the skin using PRP.

What Is the Recovery Like?

One of the main differences between a Vampire Breast Lift® and surgical breast procedures is recovery.

The treatment is performed in-office and does not require surgical incisions, general anesthesia or stitches. Some people may experience temporary redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness around the injection sites.

Your provider will give you specific aftercare instructions based on your treatment. While many people can return to their usual activities shortly after treatment, individual recovery can vary.

When Will I See Results?

A Vampire Breast Lift® is not expected to produce the same immediate change in volume or shape as an implant-based procedure. Instead, improvements in skin appearance may develop gradually following treatment.

Your provider can discuss the expected timeline during your consultation, including whether more than one treatment may be recommended to achieve your desired result.
