Female Urinary Incontinence

Summary

There are three different types of urinary incontinence:

Female Urinary Incontinence is a common issue that significantly impacts sexual health and quality of life. It involves involuntary leakage of urine and can stem from various causes like childbirth, menopause, and aging. Many people experience this condition, leading to embarrassment and self-esteem issues. Fortunately, regenerative medicine offers promising treatments to rejuvenate vaginal tissues and improve bladder control. Additionally, non-invasive devices that use electromagnetic energy and radiofrequency can strengthen and increase pelvic floor muscles and improve incontinence.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate typically has mild to moderate urinary incontinence, but not severe enough to require surgery. They are generally in good health. Age is a consideration, with younger or early post-menopausal individuals often experiencing better outcomes due to higher regenerative capacities. Candidates who are planning further pregnancies should know that childbirth can impact the pelvic floor and treatment durability.

Candidates need realistic expectations, understanding that while symptoms can improve significantly, a complete cure is not guaranteed, and they must be willing to follow post-procedure guidelines, including physical therapy and lifestyle changes. Specific considerations include having sufficient healthy pelvic tissue for procedures like stem cell therapy or Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections and active infections in the urinary or reproductive systems.

The Science Behind

EMSELLA®

EMSELLA® is a non-invasive treatment that uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to induce rapid, intense contractions of the pelvic floor and muscles. These contractions, stronger than those achieved voluntarily, significantly strengthen and improve the coordination of the pelvic floor muscles, enhancing bladder support and control. Clinical studies show substantial improvements in both stress and urge urinary incontinence, with minimal and temporary side effects, making EMSELLA® a safe, effective, and convenient option for managing urinary incontinence.

EMFEMME 360®

EMFEMME 360® is a non-invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to deliver controlled heat to vaginal tissues. The RF energy stimulates collagen production and promotes tissue remodelling, leading to increased elasticity and strength of the vaginal and periurethral tissues. This enhanced tissue health supports better bladder control by improving the structural integrity and function of the pelvic floor. The thermal effect also enhances blood circulation, which assists with tissue regeneration and muscle toning. These physiological improvements help reduce symptoms of urinary incontinence by providing better support to the bladder and urethra.

O-Shot®

The O-Shot® is a minimally invasive treatment that involves injecting PRP derived from the patient’s own blood into vaginal and clitoral tissues. The science behind the O-Shot® lies in PRP’s high concentration of growth factors, which promote tissue regeneration and healing. When injected, PRP stimulates collagen production, increases blood flow, and enhances nerve function in the targeted areas, leading to strengthened vaginal and urethral tissues. This improved tissue health and function can enhance muscle tone and support around the bladder and urethra, thereby reducing symptoms of urinary incontinence and improving bladder control.
