EXION™ Face
The first component of the technology utilizes monopolar radiofrequency, which uniformly heats the dermis to a temperature range of 40-42°C. This is the most important step in inducing heat stress to the fibroblasts in the dermal layer, causing the aged collagen and elastin fibers to be stimulated. The heat induction causes collagen coagulation and rapid skin shrinkage which then decreases skin laxity. This process then triggers a cascade of regenerative and restorative healing that improves the skin through neocollagenesis and neoelastinogenesis that promotes the production of new collagen and elastin to improve the dermal structure.
The second part of the technology is the Targeted Ultrasound that occurs simultaneously with the radiofrequency. This directs waves to the dermis that then activates fibroblasts. This is also subjected to the heat component and reaches a temperature of 42 degrees Celsius. This then activates receptors on the surface of the cells triggering a process that activates protein synthesis and triggers changes in gene expression within the fibroblasts.
